Gnome 2.30 Released

The newest version of the popular Linux Desktop Environment/Windows Manager application has been released.

Yesterday, GNOME: The Free Software Desktop Project released its newest version of everyone’s (except those who use KDE) favorite Linux desktop environment. I haven’t had the opportunity to test this baby yet.

I run Gnome in my Debian and Arch Linux installations. I started my Linux Adventure as a Gnomie (not to be confused with Chris P.’s army of gnomes from Lockergnome), but eventually went to KDE. I left KDE and reverted to Gnome, Xfce, and LXDE recently, but that’s for another rant another day.

Gnome has always been a rock-solid stable desktop environment. Let’s hope 2.30 continues in that vein. You can check out the information and screenies on Gnome’s website… click HERE. Have FUN with it!

And by the way, if you’d like to become a Friend of the Gnome Project by giving a bit of much needed monetary support, please do so by clicking HERE.

Until next time…
